When a relationship draws upon one's energy instead of giving us energy, particularily in the presence of life challlenges, then that is a wake up call to examine why a person continues in a self defeatist pattern. Either effect a change or leave the relatiionship. the worst thing is to accept a draining relationship that is no longer nurturing. To remain imprisoned in such a situation is soul destroying and action must happen to alter the downward course. Attempts at reconnection, prayer and any other interventions are vital, rather than disease producing denial.
