the body reveals
A simple complaint of redness under an eye can be a clue to an imbalance. Under the eye is the kidney region and redness is equivalent to heat. In a yin defiiciency the body lacks the cooling mechanism to prevent heat symptoms such as hot flashes. The diagnosis thus is kidney yin defiiency or a lack of cooling in the kidney energy system which easily happens in menopause. This can be treated by acupuncture or chinese herbs and perhaps by calming and breathing exercises-eg. the cooling breath in yoga
