Dr Owen Schwartz MD

Owen Schwartz is a physician whose practice is devoted to holistic and energy medicine. Through his practice he has realized that medicine, whether conventional or alternative, needs to explore the more subtle realms of the psyche and soul of the client, to fulfill truly the task of creating wholeness and balance. While teaching family medicine at Mcmaster's university he realized that a career in family practice could not fulfill his aspirations to invoke a deeper more integrative healing in the patient. By exploring the fields of spirituality, nutrition and the psyche of the "inner child" he began to realize a more inclusive approach to health that considered the complex nature of the human being. He found if he could touch the soul of an individual healing became more simplified and at the same time more comprehensive.

Dr. Schwartz has studied acupuncture and the philosophy of chinese medicine in Canada, as well as spending three months in China in 1994 for that purpose. He also has been a long time student of consciousness and the soul, particularly from a yoga perspective, "yoga" referring to the union with our spirit, or our true self. He has developed an approach to whole person healing that honors the wisdom of both western and eastern traditions. Presently he has developed a clinic in Calgary that offers the client many modalities of healing from the various fields of spirituality, psychotherapy, and western and chinese medicine.

Dr. Schwartz teams with his wife Jean Mah who is a consultant and therapist and specializes in the field of intuition and spirituality. Together they have developed seminars on bringing spirituality into relationships of two or more, including corporations and weekend gatherings.
